YOU are the most important P.I.E.C.E. of your story.
Positivity. Inspiration. Empowerment.
Connection. Engagement. Serenity.
P.I.E.C.E.S. of Peyton. Inc. is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission to spread joy and love to teenagers and young adults who are persevering through chronic illnesses and remind them of one simple truth: YOU are the most important P.I.E.C.E. of your story.
Peyton Averitt is the CEO, President, Founder & Chairperson of a nonprofit organization -
P.I.E.C.E.S. of Peyton - with a mission to spread joy and love to teenagers and young adults persevering through life-altering chronic illnesses. Five years ago, Peyton fell suddenly and unexpectedly ill and began an ongoing health journey as a patient at Rady Children’s Health, where she is followed by numerous doctors in various specialty clinics, and endures frequent hospitalizations and outpatient infusion treatments. Navigating chronic and complex neuroimmunological, autoimmune, and autoinflammatory conditions, Peyton has gained a unique perspective on integrating traditional and functional integrative medicine in patient care and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in healthcare. In addition to her patient perspective, Peyton also serves as Chairperson of the Rady Teen and Young Adult Advisory Council, where she advocates for patient-centered care and elevates the voices of young people within the healthcare system. With a heart that is called to serve, she utilizes P.I.E.C.E.S. of Peyton to deliver monthly Bags of Blessings to local hospitals and infusion centers, and sponsor monthly meetings to connect chronically ill teenagers and young adult patients and their families to build a sense of community. Currently a high school senior, Peyton will attend Point Loma Nazarene University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a goal to return to Rady Children’s Health as a pediatric nurse, where she hopes to combine the integral roles of artificial intelligence, clinical training, personal life experiences, and unmatched empathy to provide compassionate, informed care to future patients and their families.
